ARGUMENTS IN FAVOUR OF ID CARDS CONSIDERED: Apparently, they'll stop benefit fraud.
Since most benefit fraud is, we're told, carried out by people signing on and still working cash in hand, how's having a card with their retina drawn on it going to help? "Sorry, Pal, I can't give you two days labouring and then pay you in old tenners, as you've got an ID card..."
